[Release] A Letter to Momo – Movie DVD/BDRip

I watched this movie at the Toronto International Film Festival last year, and I thought it was the best animated adventure film since Spirited Away (2001). When I found out that the Japanese DVD/BD didn’t come with English subs, I knew right away that this is a film I wanted to sub.

This release might be a bit rough around the edges because I did it solo other than some encoding help, but I think it came out all right.
Let me know if there’s any typos or grammar errors severe enough to warrant a v2.

I might write a short TL note / analysis post in a few days…

Can you provide a Download Link for flac audio only?
I want to mux it with 1080p commie release. Because commie has more reasonable size that I can download. >_<

    sorry, for grammar…

    • I don’t intend to upload that for use in another release.
Personally, I don’t think they would actually encode to bit rate low enough to be noticeable either…

8thSin, do you have a twitter account to follow?

    • I don’t.

Right now, I’m not certain I can actually spend that much time on fansubbing and related activities, but it’s always a possibility ;)

Do you still have any plan to release the movie in 720p?

    • I guess you can use Commie’s edited version for that.

I haven’t seen it, but they claim to have only made grammar fixes, so it should be pretty much the same.

  5. Thanks for the subs, you are the best :p .

  6. I wonder, Is this “obachan” her mom or her aunt? Or is it intentionally left unclear?

  7. 0:27:40 “if I stayed” -> “if I stay”

  8. Thanks for finding all the errors you mentioned.
I will use these as reference if I end up releasing again. I haven’t seen Commie’s release, but they supposedly edited this script, so I’m not sure if it’s still necessary right now.
