Hmm… more support for Speculation 2: Remon is an alien?
I made a context error in the first screen. That was said by Kanna, so “Ichika changed to her costume!”.
The second screen was me being lazy, but the line meant “You’re enjoying this, aren’t you?” and I didn’t have the time to shorten it enough for the scene.
There was another line where I forgot “so much” in “It’s raining” or something, but it’s sort of a negligible error. Otherwise, I didn’t see any other translation mistakes in my second view… I’m getting more comfortable with this series and pace -.-v

The movie’s script
Well, this script sounds familiar. In taking things day by day, it seems that Remon will be basing the movie on “real life” drama between the AnoNatsu characters. In case it isn’t clear by now, Remon has an ulterior motive behind everything she does.
Remon is the director
Remon takes the role of director and even sits in a stereotypical director’s chair. Looks like my prediction from AnoNatsu Ep 3 notes was realized — Remon is the one directing this show.
Kanna sure doesn’t hold back in this episode.
Something about this shot seemed so… realistic. I don’t know if it’s the composition or the detail of shadows, but I’m liking it.
The shot in the second screen is absolutely beautiful. Just lowering the camera a little bit and hiding her eyes had such a dramatic effect on her shyness.
Anyway, this whole scene pretty much casts away any doubt there was about Tetsurou liking Kanna.
And the love triangle.
Well, this kind of explains Speculation 3: Rinon functions as a cellular healing device. Also how Ichika told Rinon to “take control of the ship”. She’s some advanced/biological version of R2-D2.
Hmm… I’ve seen this somewhere before. Sneaky Remon!
Small gestures like this tell so much about the character. This is a subtle foreshadowing of her entire conversation with Tetsurou, that it frustrates her just to listen to them talking to each other, and…
… her desire to be with him despite that.
Speculation 9: Tetsurou will turn Yukiatsu.
Everything Tetsurou has done up to this point appears to be supporting Kanna behind the scene, but is he really? He claimed to have set her up with Kaito, but in effect, he created more opportunity for him and Ichika to be together. And this episode, he passes the Ichika’s lover role to Kaito.
Kanna made her intentions very clearly in this scene, and it seems like she arrived to a small epiphany of sorts. She will cherish the present situation and have fun for the summer with Kaito and wait it out for Ichika to be gone.
Then he goes on with this troll. Has he set the whole thing up amplify Kanna’s feeling with jealousy, then crush her feelings so she can give up once and all, and comfort her after her heart is broken?
Also notice how he snuck in from the window so that Ichika wouldn’t notice. Was this done to prevent her from knowing, so she wouldn’t feel guilty and give up about Kaito? On the other hand, it may invoke jealousy just like it did with Kanna… this is a pretty complex situation right here.
The speculation that Tetsurou will turn Yukiatsu and that he planned to crush Kanna’s heart from the beginning is very unlikely, but it would certainly be an interesting plot twist 
Kanna seems have to reached the tolerable limit of Kaito and Ichika being together, and goes on the offensive in this episode.
Also Nozawana… Keeping up with the Nagano theme here. I think it’s acceptable in sandwiches, but nothing but Nozawana is pretty disgusting…
And her suspicions were confirmed here. “Dependable” is probably the number one trait women look for in men in Japan, and also a typical trait used describe a good husband. This is probably why Kanna lost it, and goes on to ask the insensitive question of when she’s leaving.
To build up memory for Speculation 6: Kaito and/or Ichika will die, or Ichika will leave Earth in the end?
Mio being exhibitionist again… also Penguin #2 on the right side? lol
I can’t even begin to describe how beautiful this scene was. The flow and execution of this scene was impeccable.I personally think the ability of seiyuu shows up the most in narration (and songs), and this relatively new seiyuu absolutely nailed it.
Another small gesture I really liked here. She must have seen Tetsurou in the first screenshot, pauses, wipes her tears, and puts on her regular “strong” facade back up.
She’s pretty dense tough, and hurts Tetsurou here. I’m sure we’ll see more details in Tetsurou’s reaction in this scene later when we see exactly what he was up to.
I would really like to see an KGNE ending in this series. Go go underdog girl!
This shot on the left is a masterpiece. The saturation, the reflection on the ground, the country atmosphere and old bus station shed, the composition of characters/buildings/and power cables… everything is just so perfect. This whole scene was so powerful because it contrasted the earlier, gloomy scenes so well and reflected Kanna’s inner feelings with such precision.
This ending narration implies Kaito would’ve done something different had he known about the love triangle/line and possibly had taken a wrong route in his future actions. A few of my peers has told me about the unlikeliness of a tragic/sad ending to this series, but I’m too sure about that… I’m expecting something very similar to AnoHana.
This final line mirrors a very famous line in the final episode of Touch anime: “Uesugi Tatsuya is in love with Asakura Minami” (just difference in “suki”/”aishiteru”). Usage of double full names and such a bold announcement of love is pretty rare, and it may have been an intentional reference…
Aaaand it’s a beach episode somehow in the next episode… I wonder how they’re going to make this possible without using an obvious and convenient scriptwriting…
And a new rival other than Kanna??? Who is this loli??????????????????
Unfortunately, this post pretty much turned into me ranting about the awesomeness of this show, but it was a 「神回」, an epic episode IMO. I hope this is not where this series peaks, but I can’t imagine how they’re going to beat this episode.

I wonder what will Tetsurou gain by spilling the beans? And, I was secretly hoping that there won’t be any beach episode. Oh well….

I adored Onegai Teacher back when I saw it in my early days of anime watching. And this to me is a clear throwback to the series in so many ways. Feels really refreshing to watch it each week.
Also my misgivings aside for 8thsin, I do like that he has noticed a lot of the little things in this episode (the various character movements/VA work/beautiful animation work, etc)

I think AnoNatsu has its own appeal aside from throwbacks to Onegai *. It is certainly better paced and has a more modern feel.

i have seen onegai sensei and it was just an okay show, nothing special.
but ano natsu got me hooked already with the 1st episode and it’s getting better and better.
i guess it depends on personal preferences. knowing onegai sensei just gives a little extra that isn’t a must-have^^

Moreover, it’s becoming increasingly clear to me that this is probably going to be better than Onegai Teacher. The directing and pacing are not only smoother, but much better at communicating subtext. Looking back at the older shows, especially Onegai Twins, it was almost embarrassing at how clumsily scenes, dialogue, and other aspects were handled by comparison. A lot of the writing flair of Kuroda is there, but the deftness was not. Pairing up Kuroda with Nagai as director was the right choice.
I wonder, in a way, if this is Kuroda’s attempt to essentially redo the old shows with 10 additional years of experience behind him. So far it’s been really worth it.

He may notice how frustrated she’s getting and feel that she needs to get it out now, supported by him outing her to Kaito at the end of the ep (after hearing her defeat that afternoon).
Then again, it could also be that he just wants to cause chaos or see the two girls fight it out for Kaito?

We haven’t seen Tetsurou get very emotional yet, so his motives are still a mystery to me.
